It is a known fact that Murugar is represented by the planet mars which represents war. Lord Murugar is the only deity that has the combined powers of vaishnava and shaivas. Lord murugar is a combination of courage, determination and compassion. In the history, even after destroying the asura soorapadman, he showed compassion and turned them his vahana. This is also interpreted as change of pride to devotion. Murugar, by nature blesses a person with unending determination and will power. In astrology his core tattva is shown through the planet Mars. It represents urja, energy and blood. It is said by many astrologers that Mangal's position in a horoscope represents that specific area in which we can't attach any desires. When we use this guna in a positive way, it turns into a true blessing for a shakta. This also strives a person towards detachment.
