When Krishna Accepted Maa Kali
After the great war of Kurukshetra, when dharma had been restored, Sri Krishna knew his purpose on earth had been fulfilled.
The avatar had played his part in the divine play.
He sensed the end approaching not with fear, but with quiet acceptance.
For one who was beyond life and death, the ending was just another act in the eternal cycle of existence.
On a calm day, Krishna walked into the forest near Prabhasa.
The air was gentle, the trees were still
Tired from his journey, Krishna rested beneath a large peepal tree.
He stretched his legs, closed his eyes, and let his mind dissolve into stillness.
At that moment, a hunter named Jara roamed nearby.
He was seeking prey, his bow drawn, he sensed a movement
Through the thick bushes, he noticed something resembling a deer.
Not realising what it was, Jara released his arrow.
The shaft flew swiftly, piercing Krishna’s foot, the same foot that had crushed the weight of countless egos.
Blood flowed gently onto the earth.
And in that moment, Sri Krishna smiled.
He called the hunter closer. Trembling, Jara fell at his feet, realising whom he had struck.
Tears streamed down his face.
Krishna, with infinite compassion, placed his hand upon Jara’s head and said,
“Do not grieve. This too was destined.
You were Bali in another age, and I was Rama.
Then, I ended your life from behind the trees.
Today, destiny completes its circle. There is no fault, only fulfilment.”
As Jara wept, Krishna’s gaze turned inward.
He felt the subtle stirring of time itself the gentle whisper of MaaKali
For even the Avatar must bow to Time, and Time is none other than MaaKali, the end and the beginning.
As his mortal body lay beneath the tree, the srikrishna dissolved into the cosmic silence.
