Thillai Kaali

Ignore …. Simply not worth it. At the peak of my frenzied quest for Bhairavaa, I had received a misaddressed letter from the Chidambaram Natarajar temple. Taking that as a sign, I visited the beautiful temple only to find, Bhairavar in a remote corner of the temple, a small vigraham. It did puzzle me at the time, but as I was preparing to start back home, I received a call. Mind you, at this point, I had already started my car, and had just started driving home ward. The good friend of mine on the call; she enquired, ‘did you go to the Thillai Kaali temple? ‘ (At this stage, to make it easily discernible, the sheer volume of my Bhairava Upsana in my daily life would be 80% and Kaali Upsana about 20% but both were NithyaUpasana, the proportions have tilted completely as I write this) So, When I received that call asking if I had been to the Kaali temple, I lied … ‘I am on the way’ But taking that call as a sign, I visited the Kaali temple. The Thillai Kaali deity, has a beautiful Tamil poem dedicated her, it recites about her always calling out to her devotees in the strangest manner. Out of the blue .. Cutting back to the present, out of a mere whim, I googled up a pic of Thillai Kaali tonight, and the sheer similarity of what I had ended up making my own vigraham look like without for a second thinking of the Thillai Kaali Deity…. But then it Doesn’t even surprise me anymore. The Kum-Kum was added from Aug 1, daily little by little until she looked like this, today. AdiSakthi … Kaalike 🖤🙏🏿 Right - Thillai Kaali Vigraham Left - Maa at home.
